Games this weekend will be at Home vs local rivals Ross High

The Knox Matches vs RH will be incorporated into the Haddington Hockey Festival this Saturday, 1 October, at the Aubigny Sports Centre. All players are invited to stay around after the last school game. The Ladies and Juniors are organising mixed hockey games. There will be a BBQ, bacon rolls, tea/coffee and home baking available. The Haddingotn Hockey Festival is likely to go on until 1.30pm or so.

East Lothian Council is in the process of developing a new Anti-Bullying Policy in line with the Scottish Government's national approach to anti-bullying for Scotland's children and young people.

Bullying is defined as 'a mixture of behaviours which can impact on a person's capacity to feel in control of themselves. This is what we term as their sense of 'agency'. Bullying takes place in the context of relationships; it is behaviour that can make people feel hurt, threatened, frightened and left out' .

Our u18 rugby squad through its partnership with Haddington RFC, is planning a tour in February 2017. The tour is open to all boys who will be 16 or over by 18th February 2017. If you haven't played rugby before, or have stopped playing and are keen to start playing again, then we encourage you to come along to training. There is still plenty of time ahead of the tour to get you into shape to play.

A reminder to all S1 pupils who applied for instrumental lessons - auditions will take place this week. Guitar auditions are today! (Wednesday). Please check the Music department noticeboard, or speak to Miss Orr or Mr Johnston to find out your audition time.

A reminder to all S6 going to Dalguise this weekend that the bus will depart from the back of the school at 1.30 on Friday. Pupils can leave bags in the Social Subjects Staff base on Friday. If you have been having difficulties connecting to the school WiFi (CLN) network please follow the step below to resolve.  There was an issue with a mis-configured network device which has now been resolved.

In the WiFi settings for your device, choose the option to 'forget' the CLN network - then re-establish the connection.  This should then present the authentication page as usual.

Remember that to connect you will require your PIN code which can be found in an email sent from the East Lothian IT ServiceDesk to your Edubuzz email account (when the WiFi was first made available).

ALL members of the Sports Council must attend a meeting in the PE Classroom on Thursday 15th Sept at the beginning of break.

S6 Pantomime auditions and casting will be held on Tuesday the 20th of August in the assembly hall 4-6. If you are not going to make it can you please contact either Hannah Trotter or Victoria Smith to arrange alternative options. Everyone who put there name down for acting attend auditions if possible. There will be an audition sign up sheet on the common room door and at reception, put your name down before tuesday lunch time or you will not be able to audition.

We currently have a vacancy for one full-time or two part-time people to join our plant area team. The successful applicant will have a real passion for plants and gardening and the necessary people skills to advise our customers.

This is a varied job which involves general care and maintenance of our plants, checking in deliveries and putting the plants out on display, helping customers and working as part of a team to present the plant area in an attractive and inspirational way. Most of the work will be in the plant area but there may be occasions when you will be helping the staff in the indoor shop. 

Applicants must be physically fit and should be aware that they may be required to do some heavy lifting. Retail experience would be an advantage, as would a formal horticultural qualification, but neither is essential if applicants have a sound practical experience. Hours will be by agreement and will include some weekend working.
