Take this opportunity and have your say!

Haddington and Lammermuir Area Partnership has been working with East Lothian Council and local community partners to identify a suitable location in Haddington for a community shelter.
This has arisen following a request from young people for a place where they could meet to socialise in Haddington and was first raised when the Area Partnership began developing their Area Plan in 2014. The request was duly noted as a potential outcome in the Area Plan and then gained further momentum during the construction of the skatepark on Whittingehame Drive in 2016.
In early 2017, a survey of some local young people was carried out which identified the area around Tynebank Road, Haddington as being their preferred location. East Lothian Council have also agreed that this is their preferred location for a shelter. The Area Partnership has previously supported the design, build and installation of a shelter in Garvald and has already committed funding to install a similar shelter in Haddington.
A consultation seeking views on this proposed location has now begun. For more details, and to take complete the online survey. Alternatively please email your comments to Haddington and Lammermuir Area Partnership at handl-ap@eastlothian.gov.uk by no later than Friday 9 March 2018.

Young students and their parents will have the opportunity to meet staff from Oxford University next month when they host a special event in North Berwick that aims to demystify and explain the application process for Oxford and Cambridge Universities. The ‘Oxford Explained’ presentation, to be held at North Berwick High School on 13 March, covers all aspects of student life and the admissions process for Oxford including course choice, the college system, tutorial teaching, admissions tests and interviews.
The event aims to leave students feeling much better informed about what applying to and studying at Oxford would involve, as well as aiming to break down any misconceptions about Oxford that may deter students from making an application. The session will be delivered by Oxford Undergraduate Admissions and Outreach office staff and it is hoped that it will be supported by current students who will share their experiences. The session is targeted at students in S5, but can also be helpful for younger year groups considering Oxford. Parents are also encouraged to attend.
Oxford Explained and Student Life will be on Tuesday 13 March from 6.30pm to 8pm at North Berwick High School. Places can be reserved by visiting www.eventbrite.co.uk
All Italian Explorers must attend a meeting at break on Thursday 8 February 2018.
We had hoped at this meeting to be able to get signatures on the 'passport' cards, however we are still missing a number of photographs which were due last week. Please work to deadlines as this makes everybody's life easier! Obviously, delays may occur on occasion but in these events it is important to let us know in advance.
Look forward to seeing everyone there.
