Well done to all pupils who took part in this year's Nativity scene activity. 

There were some wonderful entries and the winners are:-

Rueben Phoenix Hill (1T2) for his fantastic website with full coding which took a whopping 25 hours of work. 

Anna Munroe (1L1) for her beautiful light up Manger in a box.

Maya Lavender and Jessical Goodfellow (1G3) for their edible manger.

Special mention goes to Lizzie Vischer (1L1)  for her imaginative Tealight coloured jar manger.

Thanks to everyone who took part and made this event a success.   Pupils are reminded to collect their work from the library.

When school resumes after the New Year a Media Group shall be starting, which shall be available for all years. This will cover a range of skills and aspects of photography, film, computing and journalism. Welcome for anyone willing to explore and gain fun experiences covering school events such as sports, music and drama shows. Shall start meeting every Wednesday at lunch from the 18th of January. Feel free to approach Ellana Kelly or Megan Mckirdy (S6) with any questions!

Many thanks to our senior pupil coaches for leading on basketball this term. Both they and the players have put a great amount of time in to sessions and our players are developing as a result.

Training is now finished this year but we look forward to picking it up again in the New Year and to getting some games played.

Christmas Concert tickets will be on sale on WEDNESDAY and THURSDAY lunchtime this week.

There will be a representative from the Saltire Awards in the library from period 1 till the end of break on Tuesday 13th of December. Anyone who would like more information on how to gain recognition for their volunteering hours should head along either during a free period or at break. However, pupils should not ask out of class.

Please take a minute to come down to the library and vote for your favourite piggy bank design. S2 created the designs in money week last session and they will be used to promote expressive arts fundraising throughout the year. The winning entry will be painted on our giant piggy bank, so cast your votes by the end of term and make your vote count!

A Iphone 7 adapter to allow someone to attach their headphones to their Iphone 7 has been left in my classroom. I also have a tie that was left here a couple of weeks ago. The iphone adapter could be an S3's.

Biology Field Course to Portugal

Congratulations to the Knox Badminton players involved in last weeks Mid & East Lothian Schools Badminton Championships.
Over 80 pupils took part from the 6 Secondary Schools in East Lothian and the 3 schools that joined the event from Midlothian.

Following this event selection will now take place for pupils to represent Mid & East Lothian Schools at the Scottish Schools National Championships which will be held on the 12th and 13th March at Bells Sport Centre, Perth.

Thanks very much to everyone who supported the Amnesty International Bake Sale.  The group managed to raise £73.85.  Well done to everyone who baked and got involved in making this event a success. 

Next week there is an Amnestea for the staff extended break so remember to bring some extra pennies on Tuesday. (staff only)

On Thursday 15th the Amnesty group will be doing a sponsored silence so thanks in advance for your sponsorships. 

All money raised goes directly to helping ensure people have their human rights "Protect the Human"

The netball game is cancelled today after school as Ross High could not gather enough players due to other commitments. The game will be postponed to a later date. Training will resume as normal today after school (Wednesday 7th December).

On Wednesday, the school will hold this year's Youth and Philanthropy Initiative final during Periods One and Two. All S4 and S5 pupils will form the audience as seven groups of S5 Pupils compete to win £3000 for their chosen local charity. All S4 and S5 pupils should head to their Period 1 class where they will be registered and brought down to the hall.

If you’re looking to be part of a better energy future, Torness Power Station and EDF's four-year Engineering Maintenance Apprenticeship will give you the skills, confidence and qualifications to join the industry’s next generation.

If this is something you think you might be interested in there will be a meeting on Tuesday 13 December in Mr Blair's room (M1.7) from 1330 - 1355. The meeting will be run by a representative from EDF who will be able to tell you more and answer any questions you have.
