Thank-you to the vast majority of Italian Explorers who attended our meeting today - for the few who didn't, they must ensure that they speak with Mrs Ball before she finds you first!  Everyone at the meeting received 3 documents: PC1 Consent Form, EHIC and Group Passport information.  These should be actioned as indicated and returned to Mr Wren.  In addition an important raffle ticket was issued to everyone which should be kept safe and in immaculate condition until our educational adventures (and return to school).  Please see Mr D if you did not receive this raffle ticket by the end of this week.

S1 Cheerleading starts back on the 10th November. It’s on Thursdays after school from 6pm – 6.45pm. The 6 week block costs £16.50. See Mr Wands in the Active Schools if you’re interested in taking part.

A list of the 70 pupils attending the theatre trip to see Alice's Adventures in Wonderland is now up in the Drama corridor. Could ALL pupils who came along for the Airfix Models please come to M7 today (Monday 31st) at 1.30pm.  We need to match names to models!  Also could those who took their models home please make sure you bring back the completed models by Thursday 3rd November.  We still have some that need their final finishing touches, please come to M7 any lunchtime this week to finish them.  The company that provided the kits will be collecting your models at the end of the week.  Many thanks.

Thank you to everyone who has made prompt deposit payments for Italy 2017.  For those who have made online payments, please remember to collect your payment card (and then visit to have it updated 24 hours after making future payments).  It is important that you retain an updated payment card to confirm that online payments have successfully been received by the Italy Team into the Italy account. A reminder that the Italy online payment code for excursion payments is AW-IT17-EX.

There will be another Italy meeting arranged soon, keep an eye out in the bulletin.  Remember full attendance at all meetings is expected.

To raise money for 2 worthy causes we would love for everyone to dress down and bring in £1 on Friday 28 October 2016. There will be activities and home baking in the Social Area (including Pie The Teacher) - so bring some extra change for this.

Congratulations to those pupils that have been selected to represent Knox Academy in the East Lothian U14 Badminton Competition at Meadowmill on Friday. Please make sure you have returned the Parental forms, to Mr Wands, by Thursday at Break. Players should change into playing kit and meet at the PE classroom on Friday ready to go at 12.15pm.

Senior Choir rehearsals will resume this afternoon (Wednesday) at 4pm in the Music Department. New members are welcome to join, as we will be starting to rehearse for the Christmas Concert! Please speak to Miss Orr for more details.

Thank-you to all individuals who put their name forward to join the Italian Excursion in 2017.  90 individuals expressed an interest; however unfortunately places are limited.  The Italy Staff Team would have loved to have been able to take everybody; and it is difficult seeing the disappointment that some students will inevitably face.

The list of those offered a place as an Italian Explorer 2017 was published today (Wednesday) as of 4 pm.  This is available in the Maths and Business Education corridors, outside the Medical Room and at the front of the school.

Individuals (50) are invited to attend a meeting in M.12 on Thursday 13 October 2016 at break where detailed documentation will be issued.  There is a quick turnaround of paperwork required and for this we apologise.  Individuals on the Reserve List are also more than welcome to attend at this stage for information, in the event that places become available.

Just a wee reminder that there is a mandatory meeting for all pupils attending the UN Conference at Edinburgh University on Saturday (15th October). The meeting is in RME 1 (Ms Brannigan's room) at break time today (Wednesday 12th). Thanks.

Following a very successful block of rugby with S1 classes in PE, the S1 cohort will participate in an S1 Rugby Festival on Tuesday 11th October during periods 5 and 6.

S1 students should bring PE kit in order to take part.
