  3. Highlight NOW or underline all of your exams on the school examination timetable. If you are not sure whether you will be sitting Foundation/General/Credit levels, check NOW with your subject teachers. Where there is more than one sitting of exams (eg Art & Design) check which group you will be in for the exam.
  4. When attending for examinations during the period of study leave, pupils should wear normal school dress code for reasons of school security.
  5. Make sure that you arrive at the exam room in good time and equipped with writingmaterials/calculators/French dictionaries (where appropriate). School bags and books (other than French dictionaries) may NOT be taken into the hall and should be left in lockers.
  6. Mobile phones and other electronic devices should not be brought into school as they are not permitted in the examination rooms under any circumstances even if they are switched off.  If they are brought into school they must be left securely in lockers.
  7. If you are ill during the examination period and cannot attend for any examination, your parent/carer must telephone the school on the morning of the examination.  A doctor’s certificate will be required for absentee consideration by the SQA.  In the event of you becoming ill during an examination, you should advise a member of the invigilation staff.
  8. Invigilation will be undertaken by SQA Invigilators. You must carry out their instructions as directed as poor conduct may result in the forfeit of the examination and your parents will be contacted.

Many parents and carers of pupils in S2 attended an information evening on 20 March on Curriculum for Excellence. The main presentation from the evening can be found here. Feedback from the parents was very positive and will help with planning the next steps.

The school will be working in partnership with the Parents School Partnership; area HM Inspector (Mr P Denning), other secondary schools in East Lothian, the School Council and the Quality Improvement Officers of East Lothian to ensure we deliver the best possible experience for our pupils.

We plan to hold a further event in May/June; details will follow in the new term.

A reminder to parents/carers that the school closes for the Easter break on Friday 30 March 2012 at 12.05 pm.  Pupils and staff resume on Tuesday 17 April.

For S4-S6 pupils this break is the ideal time for some independent study in preparation for the Final Exams in May. Pupils may wish to use the Study Skills Booklet for ideas on how to study and a blank revision timetable.

As in previous years, staff are providing Easter Revison sessions which we encourage pupils to attend to assist in their studies.
