A small and dedicated group of Knox students - Owen McHugh, Eilidh Munro and Saimah Uddin have created a KONY documentary (see below) which was viewed during registration across the school on Friday 29 June 2012.

Owen, EIlidh and Saimah are three members of the award-winning Knox KWN Team.  The eight team members created a thought-provoking Knife Crime documentary which was submitted in the Panasonic KWN Global Competition winning the UK Grand Prix.  They join the rest of the Knox KWN team at the Panasonic Global Awards Ceremony in London during August 2012 to compete against five other schools from across the world.

In the previous social subjects rota the S1 classes took part in an inter-school competition to create an animation about the life and times of John Gray, to launch the new museum and resource centre in Haddington.

All the animations are now on Youtube and the school with the most hits/votes will win. If you have a spare 2 minutes follow this link and vote for your favourite animation from Knox Academy.

Earlier this month all S3 Business Management pupils participated in a day of team-working events, run by Business Dynamics.

The tasks centred around three areas: communication, problem solving and working with others; in order to assist pupils preparing for the world of business.

The East Lothian News has today published an article reflecting this event.

Mrs Baird's S2 and S3 classes have been reflecting on the theme of "Speak Up Speak Out" for Holocaust Memorial Day 2012.

They have been looking at past and present case studies as well as looking at examples abroad and within the UK where the language of hatred has been prevalent.

To commemorate the day, pupils have been making class 'Posters of Hope'. These have included collages of candles as symbols of light and hope as well as personal messages of encouragement from the pupils to the world.

Images of the class collages can be seen below.
