All S5/S6 pupils coming to the Fire up Scotland Event on Wednesday 12 September should meet outside school at 8am in full dress code. Please ensure you bring a pack lunch and adhere to the following instructions set out by the venue :
- No bags larger than A3 size (30cm x 42cm)
- No bottles over 500ml
- No glass bottles
- No Metal items such as : cutlery, flasks, compasses, etc.
- No Drinks cans (Pepsi, Fanta etc)
- No Marker Pens
Please be advised that the venue have advised that if your lunch/belongings are in a clear bag it will help your group to process through security more quickly.
Knox Academy School of Rugby teams played Lasswade in the Outlander Conference on Saturday.
It was mixed results across the age groups with S2 and U18 teams winning and S1, U15 and U16 defeated.
Training as normal this week but no game Saturday due to holidays.
As usual, there will be an Eco-Committee meeting in Miss Laudi's room at lunch time on Tuesday. We'll be continuing to work on our current projects so bring your lunch along. New members are always welcome!
Can all S1-S3 pupils interested in attending the Literacy Festival on Wednesday please hand in their choice forms to Ms Machen or the school office asap.

Can all pupils that signed up to the Manchester City trip on Saturday 1st December 2018 please come to the PE classroom at either break time or after school today (Monday) to collect a parent information form and PC1.
PC1 forms must be returned by this Thursday (13th September 2018).
The Common Room will be closed this week and reopen on Tuesday 25 September so that it can be used as an 'escape room' for Maths Week. Apologies for the very short notice on this - it has been pulled together very quickly by an Edinburgh based company.
The Library will be open for your use and a huge 'thank you' for your support and cooperation with this. Speak to Mr Blair should you wish to give it a try!
Watch a film and learn Italian! Italian beginners' classes for S2 will be held in Mrs Cochrane's room T1.3 on Tuesday lunchtimes at 1.20pm, starting on Tuesday 11th September. Everyone welcome!
This months film is 'Jaws' the story of a very large shark. The film will screen in the library at 1.20pm on Tuesday 11th, Wednesday 12th and Thursday 13th of September 2018.
If you wish to watch the film but have not signed up yet you just need to collect a letter from Mrs Gourley and return it before the film that you want to watch. Only pupils over 12 can view this film.

The annual Volunteering Fayre will take place on Friday 7 September. This is an exciting opportunity to find out about volunteering both within Knox Academy and in the wider community. Details of the day are:
Period 1: presentations in the Hall. S5/6 pupils at 9 am and S4 pupils at 9.25 am. S4 teachers will bring classes to the Hall.
Period 2: all S5/6 pupils will attend the Fayre in the Social Area. Teachers will bring their classes to the Fayre at the allocated time. Any pupils with a non-contact period can attend at any time during Period 2.
Period 3: all S4 and S3 pupils will attend the Fayre in the Social Area. Teachers will bring their classes to the Fayre at the allocated time.

S1/S2 reminder, the Christmas trip to the Lyceum Theatre in Edinburgh, on Friday 7th December, is filling up on a first come, first served basis. Your payment should preferably be made through the IPay link on the school website and your PC1 must be returned to Drama as soon as possible. Collect a new letter about the trip if you need to!

All pupils attending the Modern Studies trip to The Scottish Parliament today, you need to meet with Mr Miller and Mr Redford at the school's main reception at 10:20am.
The bus will leave at 10:30am sharp.
At the pre-trip meeting on Monday we highlighted the importance of wearing full school uniform and that you must bring a packed lunch with you.

If you (or your child) are planning on playing you must have completed a PC1 before Thursday to be able to play.
