This short evening course at Edinburgh College will provide you with the knowledge to use external flash and modelling lights against backdrops in a Photographic Studio setting. You will also be introduced to portrait photography using a Digital SLR Camera. You will research styles of photographic portraits and gain skills and techniques in the production of your own portraits.

The course is 2 hours per week 5pm - 7pm, allowing you to do school work and then go to college to enhance your portfolio for college or university and to develop your skills if you are doing Higher Photography.

Would you like to work full time as a Childcare Modern Apprentice in a nursery setting working with babies to children aged 5 years old?

Are you aged 16-19 and want to work towards an industry recognised accredited qualification?

Minimum entry requirements: - 3 National 4 qualifications (one of which must be English) or equivalent.

You will be trained over 15-18 months to be a fully qualified Childcare Practitioner and Carousel will work with you to secure employment while undergoing training.

With a wealth of experience in Accountancy, Banking and Finance, Consultancy, Insurance, and Pensions, they have opened applications for their summer Business Academy. A paid week of work experience in at the applicants nearest EY office, nearest locations are Aberdeen and Edinburgh. You will have the opportunity to work on client projects and experience what it is really like to work in assurance, tax or transactions.

Applicants should be studying for 3 Highers.

There will be a film discussion group for S5/S6 pupils starting with Mr Fyvie as of next week. Pupils will select the films for discussion by the group on a rotational basis, and we will look at all aspects of that film from the text to critical response, as well as film culture more broadly. This is perfect for anyone looking to study English or Film beyond school, or with an interest in media or journalism, or who just likes watching and having a blether about a decent movie.

Meeting in Mr Fyvie’s room (T 2.2) today at 13:30 to gauge interest. This is not the regular meeting time, which will be negotiable on a week-to-week basis.
