Army Foundation College are holding an Open Day at the College in Harrogate on Saturday 8th December.
AFC Harrogate offers an alternative to college. It gives 16-18 year olds the opportunity to get involved in sports and skills coaching, discover how to be part of a team, build confidence and develop leadership skills – all while earning a salary. There are two intakes each year, in March and September as well as two course length options – either 23 or 49 weeks. At the end of the course, they can then choose whether to go on to join the British Army in a full-time job, or pursue a civilian career with valuable training to see them set for success.
The Open Day is a chance for potential recruits and their parents or carers to visit AFC Harrogate. The day will include:
- A general introduction to AFC Harrogate
- A presentation on the long and short courses and the areas to specialise in, including medicine, logistics or communications
- Q&A session
- Lunch
- Tours of the facilities, including accommodation
- A presentation on the application process.
Please note: students will need to make their own way to the college, and will need to bring photographic ID.
AFC Harrogate gives students a promising future of opportunity, adventure and achievement -enabling them to reach their fullest potential. To discover more, contact your local Army Careers Centre
