Professor Peter Higgs is to give a talk about the particle that bears his name, at a sell-out event in Edinburgh.
The celebrated scientist will join a panel discussion on the Higgs boson, a particle whose recent discovery is regarded as a milestone in modern physics.
Professor Higgs came up with a theory for the boson, which is fundamental to the laws of physics, when he was a young researcher at Edinburgh in the 1960s.
The event will be streamed live at this page at 6pm on Thursday, 20 June.
