On Wednesday, 14th November, the senior debating team took part in their first competition. Liska Crofts and Ailish Kelly were debating against the motion "Free speech is not an absolute" and Iona Lee and Louisa Paxton were debating against the motion "Minimum alcohol pricing would be good for Britain." A lot was at stake since Knox were the reigning Edinburgh round champions for the last three years.
The team did really well and the quality of the debates was outstanding. Unfortunately we were narrowly beaten by an on-form Boroughmuir High school.
Congratulations to Iona Lee who was awarded the prize for best individual speaker
