The pupils in S5/6 are now on study leave, I am sure you join with me in wishing them every success in the SQA examinations.

On Wednesday the Parent School Partnership met and the minutes will be available on the parents website.

On Thursday we hosted a visit from Finnish pupils and their teachers.  They spent most of the afternoon in the English Department and were very impressed with the school and their S1 'buddies' who looked after them.

Activities Week is just about underway and, already, groups have set off for Italy and France.  The programme is packed with exciting opportunities and I am sure the pupils in S1-3 will have an enjoyable and exciting week.

Calendar change: the Scottish Government has allocated an additional in-service day for staff to develop the Curriculum for Excellence.  East Lothian has identified Wednesday 18 August as this additional in-service day.  Therefore, pupils will resume school after the summer holiday on Thursday 19 August 2010.

Also for the diary, Monday 17 May is a holiday and Tuesday 18 May an in-service day for staff, pupils resume school on Wednesday 19 May.
