Today, Mr Young (Depute) returned to school following his trip to California as part of a Learning and Teaching Scotland project. The theme was mentoring new teachers and Mr Young is very enthusiastic about the programme and, in due course, he will be making a presentation to staff.

On Wednesday, a group of S2 pupils took part in the East Lothian Orienteering Challenge. Pupils from all 6 secondary schools took part. Everyone enjoyed the afternoon, and it is a delight to report that Knox pupils gained 6 of the top 10 places, including the first 4. Well done to all involved in the challenge.

I hope some members of the school community managed to listen to Radio 5 Live on Tuesday 9 February when the Knox Glee Club hit the airways as part of the Gabby Logan show. After some delays and lots of nerves, the live interviews and singing began at approx 13.25. It was a triumph, congratulations to Mr Campbell and all the pupils involved.

School closes at 12.05 today and pupils resume on Tuesday 23 February at 8.44. I hope everyone has an enjoyable holiday week.
