Summary

The poem by Carol Ann Duffy describes the challenge faced by a photojournalist. He has to document tragic events all over the world while not being able to do anything about the suffering he sees. Throughout the poem Duffy highlights the difficulty faced by the war photographer as well as society's passive response to the images of human suffering and tragedy they see all too frequently.
