This year, for the first time, the Parent School Partnership (PSP) will be presenting an award to acknowledge a pupil, an unsung hero, who goes the extra mile for an extraordinary achievement. It is not for academic or sporting success, but for someone who, possibly out of school, has persevered and committed their time and energies in pursuit of an extraordinary goal. The award will be called the AAA award (Attitude, not Aptitude determines your Altitude).
If you know of a pupil who should be considered for this award, please let the PSP know, either by email or through the school, as soon as possible.
The following draws have taken place (with Summer holidays in mind) and Winners are as follows:
May:- Mr Euan Swinton
June:- P. Gordon
July:- Mr Nick Davies
Money is being sent via 'pupil post'.
The Team would again like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who signed up and wish everyone a fantastic Summer.

It’s not too late to protect your child against Measles, Mumps and Rubella.
NHS Lothian is running a catch-up campaign for young people aged 10 to 17 years who have not received two doses of MMR vaccine.
Some young people missed out on the MMR vaccination when they were younger. Two doses of the vaccine are required to ensure protection.
Information has been sent to parents and guardians of children who are 10 to 17 years old whose health records show they may not have completed the full course of MMR vaccination. NHS Lothian is encouraging parents and guardians of these children to contact their General Practice to arrange MMR vaccination for their child.

In February, S4-S6 Modern Studies classes took part in a pilot study for Edinburgh University who were conducting a national study into young people's attitudes to Scottish Independence. The results of the survey were announced on Sunday and the BBC came in to film some Knox pupils' opinions on it, Head Boy Ben Nisbet also appeared live in the Sunday Politics studio. Well done to all pupils involved!
This has been a wonderful opportunity for our pupils, the full BBC news article and video clip including some of our pupils views can be accessed here.
Mrs Montgomery and Mr Woolley are leading the Amsterdam trip from 25th May - 30th May. If any pupils are worried/anxious about the exam and feel that they need additional help, Mrs Ingham is more than happy to assist. Pupils should phone up in advance to book a meeting. Pupils can visit the department on Friday 31st May for quiet revision.
If you are on study leave and still have maths textbooks to return (or any others), please bring them in on the day of your exam or before. We need them for new classes in two weeks. Please return them to the library.
Thank you.
