We thought we would update you with a few photos of our expedition so far!

Firstly, we have a basic team photo where Rab the Lad is giving us an inspirational speech, that went on.. And on.. And on! (As per)

Next, we have the team climbing down the neverending steps from the top of the Giant Buddha to the bottom which were rather narrow but everyone managed to squeeze down them.

One of the panda's followed, not much to say really other than that they enjoyed eating in a strangely human-like way!

Finally some of the boys (and girls) paid a little extra in order to light incense in order to bless their familes and friends with wealth and success, it was a good way to get a feel of the different culture!

Thank you so much to everyone for their support with the Unicef fundraising on Tuesday (Sports Day).

In total we raised £562 which is brilliant. £190 of this will go to One to support water projects in Africa and the rest (£372) will go to Unicef.

Haddington Library is looking for volunteers to assist with the running of a Games Afternoon, 2-4pm Wednesday, during the holidays. Volunteers will assist with the younger participants on digital games which are associated with the summer reading challenge and also play board games with those who do not want to take part with online games. This is a good opportunity to participate in a community event which you can add to CVs/UCAS applications. Please contact Haddington Library staff for details.

All pupil reservation and overdue notices are now sent to pupil edubuzz e-mail accounts. Pupils should regularly check their accounts if they have requested any library items and also to ensure they haven't gone overdue on items. If a pupil would prefer to get notices to a home e-mail account please see Mr Plain in the library where you can update your record. During the summer if you are tidying your room or clearing your brother/sister's room as they prepare to leave for university, please return any library books you find to the nearest branch library. The branch library will send them back to school for you.

The Knox Academy expedition to China is fast approaching and I’m sure that you are thinking about how you can get in touch with us if you need to.

Please bear in mind that the school office will be closed and so all queries need to go through Outlook Expeditions. The following information (click here for more detail) will therefore provide you with alternatives:

  • Have there been any changes or calls out of the ordinary?

If you have an urgent need to contact the team in-country, for example to communicate a family emergency, you can call the Operations Room directly on 01248 672 799.

We feel that within the school pupils are regularly recognised and praised for their achievements and we would like to publicise this by improving the sports section on the school website.

It is our intention to write weekly updates on pupils achievements along with general sport around the school in the new sports column.

We would appreciate if you could take part in answering our short questionnaire (click here) and inform us on any other suggestions or comments.

Thank you,

Lucy Brown and Annabel Jackson (Sports Leaders)
