In September 2016 a Police Scotland Youth Volunteer group will be launched in East Lothian. It will be based in Musselburgh on a Tuesday evening. The group will learn new skills relating to volunteering and policing, which will in turn assist and prepare them for volunteering at local and national events.

The aims of the PSYV are to encourage the spirit of adventure and good citizenship, inspire young people to participate positively in their communities, promote a practical understanding of policing amongst young people, and support local policing priorities through volunteering and giving young people a chance to be heard.
If this sounds of interest to you, and you are aged 13-15 (or just turned 16), further information can be found on the Police Scotland website (Twitter & FB links also within this page).
Application forms should be returned by Friday 9 September 2016. If you have any further queries please contact PC Johnston @ Haddington Police Station.

Pupils who are currently studying for SQA examinations will find information available on the SQA's Your Exams 2017 website useful.
You can build a personal exam timetable (available soon) directly on the SQA website or download the 2017 SQA Exam Timetable (PDF) or in an editable format (Excel). The SQA allows schools to change the start times of exams slightly (if necessary), so you should double-check the times of your examinations with your teachers.
Pupils may also be interested in signing up for the MySQA service which is your direct link with SQA. It lets you view your qualification information, check the personal details we hold for you and if you're sitting exams you can get your results sent by email and text message.
