An EMA (Education Maintenance Allowance)  is a weekly payment of £30 paid directly to eligible students who are continuing in post-compulsory education (i.e. beyond the age of 16). Summer leavers ( those born between 1 March 1998 and 30 September 2001) will now have received a pack inviting them to submit their application. We need to receive the completed application into our office by 30 September 2017 – any awards received after this date will not be backdated until the start of term.

Winter leavers, remaining at school who will be eligible for an award from January, will be sent an application form directly by the team in late November. If you need an application form, these are available from the school office, by email from the EMA Department or online.

The weather has been slightly more challenging this week but that doesn’t prevent staff from encouraging pupils to be out and about.  Class 3 were at Amisfield Garden on Wednesday and came back with blackberries and raspberries to add to their apple crumble. Well done Rory and Charley for excellent chopping.
